This message, “Bitter Success,” explores the story of Jonah and the danger of obeying God outwardly while resisting Him inwardly. Jonah experienced incredible ministry success when an entire city repented, yet his heart remained hard because he didn’t want God to show mercy to people he believed didn’t deserve it. The sermon highlights three key truths: God loves even the people we struggle to love, delayed obedience leads to unnecessary hardship, and God desires not just our actions but our hearts. Ultimately, it challenges believers to align their hearts with God’s compassion, respond quickly in obedience, and celebrate the grace of God—even when it’s extended to those we wouldn’t choose. This message, “Bitter Success,” explores the story of Jonah and the danger of obeying God outwardly while resisting Him inwardly.
